Server Mirroring
Software
For Windows and Solaris Servers
DoubleTake is fast becoming the de facto software standard for
mirroring Windows and Solaris servers throughout organisations running
networks of all sizes.
DoubleTake is used for both simple backup for single servers and
as the basis for building complex hotsites to provide failure resistance
for whole networks.
Key Software Features
- DoubleTake is Microsoft Certified
- DoubleTake reduces server downtime to seconds, regardless of
cause.
- DoubleTake mirrors data regardless of the application(s) running
on that server.
- DoubleTake eliminates the need for server downtime during hardware
maintenance.
- DoubleTake allows the target machine to take over in the event
of hardware or software failure in the source machine.
- DoubleTake combines data mirroring, server consolidation, disaster
recovery and system maintenance.
- DoubleTake ensures that scheduled and unscheduled downtime will
no longer be your concern.
How Server Mirroring Works with DoubleTake

- Volumes and files on the source are selected for replication
and then target server(s) and path(s) are selected.
- Double-Take compares source and target files and then synchronizes
the differences at a block level.
- On-going changes to selected files are captured for replication
as they occur.
- Changes are transmitted continuously or per user-defined conditions,
such as bandwidth limits or start/stop conditions.
- Target receives and applies the changes to target volumes.
- Target server monitors the source server and can initiate failover
automatically or manually.
- Failback releases the identity of the source allowing original
source to rejoin the network.
- The restore function returns current data back to original machine.
